How things have changed…

that I will get to every 6 months or so, running that is. Yes, it has been that long since I’ve actually ran. Well, okay, more like 4 months but in the perspective of exercise goes, 4 months might as well as be 6 months. There were a period of 3 months in the summer that I did start to get back into the routine of running regularly. Then, September hit and for some reason, I just lost all steam. It may have something to do with the mad crazy drama that engulfed me at work. Anyhow, needless to say, that situation is over and done (PRAISE THE LORD!!!) and I am heading into a new job situation come 3 January, 2012.

This morning, as I made my way over to the long forgotten Charles river, images and sounds of the by-gone days comes flooding in. Oh, how I miss Charles and the peace he brings. Bit by bit, step by step, as I push myself around the river, I feel the weight of the past months just start to shed. It was incredibly liberating. Perhaps its the upcoming new job situation that was liberating. Perhaps it was the unequivocal acceptance that the Lord is the one on the throne, administrating and arranging all of my situations. Perhaps it was the physiological phenomenon that the body engages in exercise. Whether it be just one of the reasons or all of the reasons, today, for the first time in a long time, I felt like I could breathe again. That blast of fresh air refreshed my spirit, encouraged my soul, and enlivened my weary body.

It’s blissful to have some time off this week. H has shutdown for the week so both the husband and I are on vacation. It was my last day at my former department on Thursday, 12/22. It was gloriously liberating as I walked out of that office for the last time as an employee. I did not get a goodbye from my boss and the assistant, as expected, and I can honestly say that I’ve dusted my hands off of them. What relief this week is to me.

On another plus, Baby Chang still has daycare during the day (I mean, it’s already paid for so might as well really use it right?) so it’s actually like we are on vacation for 6 hours of the day. Of course, my husband will for sure sleep in and bum around all day while here I am, making my to do list for the week. Let’s see how much I can get accomplished!

hang up the remaining 4-5 frames of pictures around the house
~~laundry~~ DONE!
~~re-organize the closets~~ DONE!
~~buy wardrobe for the master and re-organize our clothes storage~~ DONE!
~~re-organize master bedroom to new configuration based on the above~~ DONE!
sell two rugs – changed my mind to just selling one rug
Read new book – “Thinking, Fast and Slow” by Daniel Kahneman (Christmas gift from the dean to the husband)
install picture hanging system on hallway wall for baby Chang

Changes up ahead…

I used to think I did not like change. My personality does not handle change very well, it takes awhile to get used to change. I always have to plan things out way in advance to prepare myself for the upcoming change. And if things don’t go as planned, whatever throws me off will affect me in a big way. Then, it takes me awhile to get adjusted to that wrench in the plan. I guess we can always be conditioned to change, be transformed over time. Haha.

Well, after 5 years of employment at my current job, I am happy to say that there are changes up ahead. What started out as a great job opportunity, working with great people, under the direction of a great leader, has turned out to be petty misunderstandings, office drama galore and the glaringly obvious attempts of my supervisor to sabotage my career. So, with gladness of heart, I say farewell to my current job and wholeheartedly welcome the change of a new job. And I tell you, I am ready.
